Data Apples Corporation, author of the popular remote access software, Beyond Remote(TM), today announced the release of its ReverseConnect(TM) technology. ReverseConnect(TM) Professional (http://www.dataapples.com/remotesupport) offers service providers the ability to send out a support invitation e-mail directly from Beyond Remote to a remote user. When the user clicks on the embedded link, they initiate a support session and the service provider can take control of their computer in a matter of seconds. Due to this unique design, ReverseConnect(TM) works quickly and easily, without concerns of being blocked by routers or firewalls. While other popular remote support packages offer website-based remote support solutions, Beyond Remote runs as an application on the user's computer. The program leverages Data Apples' web-services to offer support professionals a direct connection to the remote user's computer in seconds, without backhauling any data. The result of this approach to infrastructure is increased performance and lower prices for service providers. QFloors, a software company focused on the flooring industry, made the decision to purchase Beyond Remote before ReverseConnect(TM) even made it out of Beta-testing. "We used to provide all of our customers with a copy of PC Anywhere in order to provide remote support," says Giovanni Ciacchella of QFloors. "Beyond Remote with ReverseConnect(TM) allows us to support any customer at a moment's notice, and it will save us literally tens of thousands of dollars over the next five years." "The addition of ReverseConnect(TM) to Beyond Remote will allow Service Providers of all types to shorten software implementation times, provide ad-hoc remote support and training, and perform after-hours unattended maintenance all from one affordable package," said Michael Anderson, Director of Business Development for Data Apples. Beyond Remote(TM) 2.0 with ReverseConnect(TM) runs on Windows 98/NT/XP/ME/2003 and is priced as low as $19.95 for a single user license to $499.95/year for the ReverseConnect(TM) Professional remote support solution. Copies may be purchased online at http://www.beyondremote.com, or you can download a fully functional free trial version from the same address. Evaluation Copy Available on Request or can be downloaded from the website (http://www.dataapples.com/downloads/beyondremote2/BeyondRemoteFull.exe) |

Radicati Group Survey Finds That Fighting Spam Is Still the Top Concern of Corporate Organizations
A Comprehensive Survey of Attitudes and Procurement Plans of 523 Corporate Organizations Worldwide With Regards to Messaging and Collaboration Includes Security, Email Archiving, Compliance, Instant Messaging, Hosted Email, Webmail, Directories, Identity Management, Storage and Email Traffic, VoIP, and More
The Radicati Group, Inc.'s latest study, "Messaging and Collaboration Corporate Survey, 2005-2006" finds that many organizations are still struggling with spam. Despite several years of aggressive anti-spam product development, many companies are still not satisfied with their anti-spam solutions. Of the top four messaging priorities reported by companies (spam, spyware, email archiving and viruses), three relate to security issues. Most respondents (67%) want an anti-spam solution that does more than just anti-spam, such as anti-virus, compliance, email encryption, and more.
Overall, 13% of companies indicated they are not happy with their current messaging platform. In fact, 16% plan to move to a competitive solution.
Almost half (48%) of companies surveyed indicated they have an email archiving solution in place, which is up significantly from 25% last year. Not all customers are happy with their email archiving solution, however. The top complaint of archiving solutions is that they are too time consuming to manage.
While IM use is on the rise, only 18% of companies surveyed are archiving their IM traffic. Another 5% are evaluating whether or not to deploy an IM archiving solution.
Only 10% of companies surveyed indicated they have deployed an Identity Management Suite; however, we expect strong growth in this emerging market, as 42% of those without an Identity Management solution indicated interest in buying one.
